Vanchem Performance Chemicals manufactures an extensive line of coatings pretreatment chemicals that meet all our clients’ demands.
We produce zinc phosphate and iron phosphate metal finishing coatings, a pretreatment necessary for steel, galvanized and aluminum substrate. Vanchem has an extensive line of iron phosphate cleaner-coaters that clean and phosphate simultaneously in coatings pretreatment processes (see our Iron Phosphates products). Typically, zinc phosphate is utilized in larger washers that are more sophisticated where greater field performance is necessary.
Coatings pretreatment also captures other areas of surface finishing, areas such as paint booth coatings, acid pickling inhibitors, chemical de-scaling, scale removal accelerators, and lime or borax coating enhancers for steel and wire production mills. We also have a product line of industrial strength corrosion inhibitors that can control rust before/during/after metal surface treatment.
Today, the coatings pretreatment industry is moving in the direction of more environmentally friendly technologies. Although most industries today have their own in-house waste water pretreatment system for removing heavy metals like zinc, nickel, and phosphates from process water, most plant managers are eager to explore new environmental technologies that do not require waste water pretreatment primarily for cost down alternatives.
Vanchem has a new organic reactive film technology that is formulated to replace iron & zinc phosphate for environmentally friendly coatings pretreatment. Vanchem’s new technology is operated at ambient temperature, is phosphate free, contains no heavy metals, medium pH, and can generate field performance equal to iron phosphate. Vanchem’s new product is called GREENCOAT RF.
The above-mentioned coatings pretreatment technologies are widely used by industry and will continue to be used well into the future. Vanchem’s coatings pretreatment line features a large array of chemicals specially formulated to meet the needs of industry.
