Pretreatment Chemicals
Prior to painting metal and plastic, specific pre-treatment chemicals must be used to clean, phosphate, rinse and condition the substrate. Consumer products such as automobiles, appliances, outdoor equipment and office furniture all require a painted finished product.
Vanchem offers a complete line of pre-treatment chemicals for steel, galvanized, and aluminum substrate such as iron phosphate and zinc phosphate. In addition, our metal cleaners for applications on either painted or unpainted surfaces. We have a full line of non-chrome sealers used to enhance field performance for those customers that require their painted product to withstand years of outdoor exposure.

VANCLEAN S75NP: VANCLEAN S75NP is a multipurpose liquid, caustic-free alkaline cleaner designed to provide excellent cleaning properties in a variety of applications. The rinsing capacity is high, ensuring deposit and spot-free finished product. VANCLEAN S75NP contains no phosphates. When left on parts, without rinsing, it provides a short-term, in-plant, rust protection.
FOSTEX 11: FOSTEX 11 is a non-foaming, liquid blend of acid based phosphates and accelerating agents, designed for a five (or more) stage iron phosphating pre-treatment washer. FOSTEX 11 provides a superior corrosion-resistant coating on steel. FOSTEX 11 may also be used under special condition on non-passivated galvanized steel and zinc die-cast as a pre-treatment with special additives packages.
RINSEAL 7: RINSEAL 7 is a chromate-free final acid rinse formulated to provide superior corrosion inhibition on conversion coated metal surfaces. RINSEAL 7 effectively dissolve un-reacted phosphate residues and hard water salts, in addition to increasing both paint adhesion and resistance to salt spray tests.
