Fostex AL-1 (2, 3)

FOSTEX AL-1 (2, 3) is a concentrated acid-based solvent degreaser, containing water soluble solvents, designed for rapid removal of oils, shop soils and oxides from aluminum surfaces. FOSTEX AL-1 (2, 3) contains the right mix of penetrating agents to assist in oxide or weld smut removal.

FOSTEX AL-1 (2, 3) is used in the first of a two-step process for descaling then phosphating. Time and concentration are two important parameters to vary. The amount of soil on the parts to be descaled may require some precleaning. If the parts to be descaled have a heavy build-up of oil, use FOSTEX ST to pre-clean if necessary.

FOSTEX AL-1 is a 25 % v/v of our VANCLEAN ALW. AL-2 is twice the concentration of AL-1, and AL-3 is three times the strength. FOSTEX AL-1 (2, 3) are formulated to be used neat (as-is), and misted on the aluminum parts with a spray wand.
